Universal Pre-Kindergarten is a New York State early childhood initiative. It provides four-year-old children access, at no charge, to comprehensive early childhood education experiences that promote their social, emotional, creative, expressive, physical, cognitive, language, literacy, and cultural development. Children are eligible if they become four years old by December 1st of the school year in which they are enrolled in the program. Early Discoveries Center works in partnership with Middle County and Connetquot Central School districts to provide Universal Pre-kindergarten programs. Universal Pre-kindergarten is offered for 2½ hours per day. Early Discoveries offers extended hours for working families.
